Among the Saints, we have numerous exemplars of Christian motherhood. Of course, the Holy Theotokos and Ever Virgin Mary is the absolute epitome of such, and She has been the archetype for all subsequent generations of mothers. Following in Her footsteps in a God-pleasing manner have been, in addition to many others, Saints such as Saint Sophia, Saint Juliana of Lazarevo, and Saint Emmelia. In the company of these is the often overlooked, despite being equally esteemed in Heaven, Holy Passion-Bearer Tsaritsa Alexandra.

Holy Tsaritsa-Martyr Alexandra mothered five children; Holy Grand-Duchess-Martyrs Olga, Tatianna, Maria, and Anastasia, and the Holy Tsarevich-Martyr Alexei. She ensured that their upbringings would be productive and conducive to their salvation. As a result of their mother's tutelage, the Holy Royal Children were extremely well-rounded; not only were they very learned, but they served the Russian people in every way possible until their very end. Likewise, they partook in such activities as painting, embroidery, piano, and making various paper models. In this way, Tsaritsa Saint Alexandra and her children proved true the advice of Saint Theophan the Recluse, that one should take up activities such as music, singing, painting, handicrafts, and reading as ways to avoid idleness so as to attain to the Kingdom of Heaven.

The mission of Saint Alexandra Shoppe is to encourage all to share in the joy of Christ's Resurrection, in the small way we can. We hope to accomplish this through providing edifying handicrafts and designs that can be used and appreciated by all, at any time, through the prayers and patronage of a Saint and her Royal Family, who has always watched after our family, and who we hope to join in Heaven someday, by God's Grace!
